“It is a strange and wondrous thing to hear a familiar voice you've known and admired for decades now sounding so soulful, masterful and beckoning that, if you heard it wafting from a distant fairground stage, you would start running toward it to see who it belonged to.” - Jim Washburn
Originally from Tennessee, she doesn't try to imitate Motown singers: "clear" voice, little vibrato; we are more in the register of a country/rockabilly singer. Her interpretations are all very successful and give a real personality to the covers which compare very well with the originals. The whole thing is very catchy and you never get bored. But it is perhaps in the two slower pieces, notably Hurt Me, created by Wynona Carr, that I prefer Abby. A very pleasant and promising first album, a voice to discover. (Alain Kempf) Le Cri du Coyote
